Yield: 6-8 sliders
Prep time: 5 minutes
Bake time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
1 lb beef
1 T Montreal Steak Seasoning
10 butter crackers crushed
1/4 french fried onions
2 T dill relish
2 T spicy mustard
2 T worchestershire
1 T minced garlic
1/2 C Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1 T olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
Optional: small kaiser dinner roll, cheese slices
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 385.
- Prepare baking dish (baking dish should have sides to catch grease) with tin foil, for easy cleanup.
- Mix all ingredients in a bowl by hand, just until combined.
- Section out meat into 7-8 sections, in bowl.
- Form 7-8 patties, start with a meatball shape;flatten;then press thumb into bottom of patty forming a small dome. This helps the slider keep it’s burger shape.
- Place patties in prepared baking dish, they can touch, as they will shrink.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until cooked through. Thermometer should read 155 in center of burger for food safety.
- While burgers are cooking, butter inside of rolls lightly and grill in skillet until browned! This is a great touch:)
- For Cheeseburgers; add cheese slices, place in oven for 3 minutes more.
- Garnish burger with lettuce, mayo, jalapeno, red onion, whatever you like, and serve!
NOTE: It took me some time to find the best burger bun. I find that the Parker House style, they come 15 in a pack in the freezer section, work great. I also know that most grocery store bakeries offer a very soft, small dinner roll that is delish. You’ll have to try a few out until you find your fave!
Healthy Note: I really can’t eat like this at this point in my life. I had a bit of a breast cancer scare last summer. I had precancerous cells removed and I have been leaning into the gluten free, dairy free, sugar free lifestyle ever since. I was trying to get rid of some things in the pantry and added in the french fried onions. They are delicious, but I need to eat cleaner than that! So, I would most likely buy organic meat, cut out the roll, and cheese. I would swap real onions for french fried onions. I would even add some spinach in there! This fatty meat would be fine placed in a huge salad dressed in a vinegarette. Please enjoy!
